About pup.network
Why wear a pup.network tag?
pup.network gives human pups, handlers and the wider pup play community a shared name on Bluesky. Here’s what you get, what changes when you switch, what stays exactly the same, and why it matters to more than just you.
Claim your tagWhat you get
A handle like @rex.pup.network in place of @rex.bsky.social.
Your pup identity, everywhere
Your tag shows on every post, reply and mention, so other pups recognize you at a glance. It’s the online version of wearing your tag.
The name you actually want
pup.network is a fresh namespace. Your pup name is probably free here, even if it’s long gone on bsky.social.
A link that’s easy to share
Type rex.pup.network into any browser and it opens your Bluesky profile. Put it on a card, a mosh badge, or another site’s bio.
Works across the network
The handle belongs to your account, so it works in every app built on Bluesky’s network, not just the Bluesky app.
Free and private
No ads, no tracking, no cookies, no cost. We never ask for your password or your email.
Easy to undo
Change your mind? Switch back in Bluesky’s settings any time. Your followers and posts don’t go anywhere.
Why it’s good for the pup community
Every tag helps more than the pup wearing it.
- It makes us visible. On Bluesky a pup is one account among millions. When members share the same tag, the pup community shows up as a community instead of scattered accounts.
- It gives newcomers a way in. Plenty of pups have no local mosh, club or bar night, so online is how they find everyone else. A shared name makes the community easy to find, and claiming a tag is an easy first step that doesn’t ask anyone to post or out themselves.
- It outlasts platform changes. The pup community has been scattered before, when Tumblr banned adult content in 2018 and again as X changed. pup.network is an address the community controls, and it works in any app on Bluesky’s network.
- It comes with house rules. 18+ only, no impersonating other pups, clubs or titleholders, and nothing that sexualizes minors. Clubs and titleholders can ask us to hold their names.
- It’s groundwork. Every tag adds to a picture of who’s here, which is what things like a pup feed, a mosh calendar or pack pages would build on.
- It protects privacy. Kink identities are sensitive. We ask for nothing that isn’t already public, so there’s nothing of yours here to leak.
How switching affects you
Your handle is the name on the door. Your account is the house, and it doesn’t move.
What changes
- Your handle. Your profile, posts and replies show @name.pup.network, older posts included.
- Links that use your old handle stop working. A link like bsky.app/profile/rex.bsky.social breaks, so update any you’ve shared on other sites.
- Your old handle is released. Someone else could claim your old bsky.social name.
- People mention you by your new name. Typing @name.pup.network finds you.
What stays exactly the same
- Your login. Same email, same password.
- Your followers and who you follow. Nobody has to follow you again.
- Your posts, likes, reposts, DMs, lists and feeds.
- Mentions in older posts. They point to your account, not your name, so they still lead to you.
- Your blocks, mutes and moderation settings.
- Where your posts live. They stay with Bluesky. pup.network never holds them.
What pup.network doesn’t do
Straight answers, so nobody switches expecting something it isn’t.
- It doesn’t get into your account. We never ask for your password or an app password. To check it’s you, we read your public profile once, looking for the code you pasted.
- It isn’t verification. The 18+ rule is a promise you make, not an ID check, and it isn’t a Bluesky blue check.
- It doesn’t copy or move your posts. Nothing you post passes through us.
- It doesn’t track you or sell anything. No ads, no cookies, no analytics scripts, no fees.
- It doesn’t lock you in. You can switch back or pick a new name whenever you like.
How it’s run
A community project, run in the open.
What we store
The name you picked, your account’s public ID, and when you claimed it. While you’re claiming, we keep your one-time code for up to an hour, then delete it.
When a name can be taken back
Only for breaking the house rules. If it happens, your account, followers and posts aren’t touched; you’d just pick a different handle.
If pup.network ever went away
Your account would be fine. Bluesky would flag your handle as invalid until you picked another one in Settings, and nothing else would be lost.
Questions and disputes
Message @pup.network on Bluesky or email hello@pup.network. Clubs and titleholders can ask us to hold a name the same way.
