One last step: switch to it in Bluesky.
- Go to Settings → Account → Handle.
- Choose I have my own domain and enter the name below.
- Pick No DNS panel, then Verify text file. The file is already in place, so it should pass straight away.
- Take the code out of your Description.
Your followers, posts and DMs stay exactly where they are.
How it works
Bluesky lets any account use a web address as its handle. We hold pup.network so the whole pup play community can share it. Why switch?
Pick a name
Your pup name, your handler name, your pack. First come, first served.
Prove it’s you
Paste a short code into the Description on your Bluesky profile. We read your public profile to see it. No passwords, no app passwords.
Switch in Bluesky
Change your handle in Bluesky’s settings. Followers follow your account, not your handle, so nothing is lost.
House rules
Short list. Break one and we can take the name back. Your Bluesky account, followers and posts aren’t touched; you’d just pick a different handle.
- 18+ only. This is a space for adults. Names that look like they belong to a minor are removed.
- Be yourself. Don’t take the name of another pup, handler, club or titleholder. Clubs and titleholders can ask us to hold their name.
- Keep names decent. No hate, no harassment, and nothing that sexualizes minors.
- One name per account. Claiming a new name frees your old one for someone else.
- Names aren’t for sale. Don’t squat on names or trade them.

What is pup.network?
A free, community-run service that gives human pups, handlers and packs a Bluesky handle like @rex.pup.network. It works with the Bluesky account you already have. More about why pups switch.
Do you get access to my Bluesky account?
No. We never ask for your password or an app password. We only read your public profile Description to look for the code.
What happens to my followers and posts?
Nothing. They belong to your account, not your handle. Links that use your old handle stop working, but everything else carries over.
Can I change my name later?
Yes. Claim a new one the same way. Your old name is freed.
What do you store about me?
The name you picked, your account’s public ID, and when you claimed it. No email, no password. We don’t set cookies or run trackers.
Does it cost anything?
No.
How do I go back to my old handle?
Change it back in Bluesky’s settings at any time.
